1986 PENPEX Cachet

Special show cachet could be purchased for $1.50 with single stamp, $2.25 with a block of four, and $3.95 for four cacheted covers each with a different stamp. West Coast explorer, Sir Francis Drake and his ship the Golden Hind were featured on the show cachet. The covers were franked with a single or block of four of the 22¢ Polar Explorers issue. The cancellation was tied to the cachet with a drawing of Drake’s shop, the Golden Hind, under full sail.

A complete History of PENPEX exhibit will be on display at PENPEX 2011 on December 3 and 4 at the Community Activity Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City. The stamp show is free and open to the public.
