Dear Exhibitors:
It is with great honor that this year the PENPEX exhibit jury will be headed by former American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors president, Tim Bartshe. Serving with him will be Bill Dyer, Ed Laveroni, and apprentice Henry Marquez. This great group of men will gladly give comments and constructive feedback about all exhibits.
The competition is open to both new and experienced exhibitors. You cannot beat the FREE entry fee. The prospectus is available online with an entry deadline of November 1 or until the frames are full. Early entries are encouraged! Sorry, gold medal WSP exhibits will not be accepted.
For the first time, a 1-page category has been implemented for all Sequoia Stamp Club members. The goal is to have 40 1-page exhibits from members. Currently, we have 34 pages in the exhibit binder. Please contact Hank Shoolman, who has the binder at every Sequoia Stamp Club (SSC) meeting.
On Saturday night immediately following the close of the show that day, there will be an Awards Banquet at Harry’s Hafbrau, just down the street from the show. Ticket price is $20 which includes appetizer, entrée, side, dessert, coffee or tea, tip, and gratuity. You can order tickets from Steve Sexton at a Sequoia Stamp Club meeting, at PENPEX, or mail a check to PENPEX, P.O. Box. 235, San Carlos, CA 94070. Make checks payable to PENPEX.
PENPEX is run by SSC members. The club offers much for local collectors from auctions, presentations, local news, and question answering opportunities. Included in this monthly news eBlast are the upcoming Sequoia Stamp Club activities and area stamp shows.
